A pocket video recorder
A video recorder that fits in your pocket? The TIS start-up company ‘KIM – Keep in mind’ has achieved this miracle. Using an app from the Apple iTunes App Store you can now view recordings from the ‘BONG.TV’ online video recorder on your iPhone. Result: 50,000 downloads of this app within one week and two appearances in the Apps Top Ten for Germany and Austria. Considering that BONG.TV has been on the market for just one year, this is a huge success for this TIS start-up company, a company which has been supported by TIS innovation park for the past four years, and an indication of the firm’s qualities as an app developer.
However, no one in their wildest dreams could have anticipated what happened next: 50,000 downloads within one week, second place in the top 10 of the most popular apps in Germany, sixth place in Austria! The internet magazine and portal “COMPUTER BILD” has contacted KIM in order to report on BONG.TV, and Carsten Scheibe heaped praise on BONG.TV in his popular column ”Scheibes Kolumne” in the German news magazine “Stern”.
KIM is now looking to develop a TV-app for the iPad in the near future. According to Petra Gratl, manager of the Start-up Centre in the TIS innovation park, KIM has the expertise to develop apps which are easy to use and which work well. KIM naturally supports other companies in South Tyrol which are interested in marketing apps through the Apple Store by sharing this know-how with them.
Each BONG.TV user has 10 Gigabytes (GB) available to store favourite broadcasts – enough space for about 12 hours of television. You can try out the online video recorder for free for 7 days. An annual subscription will cost you €4.99 per month. If you need more than 10 GB, you can have 30 GB for €6.25 per month.
