South Tyrol Free Software Conference

Free Software is a meaningful topic in South Tyrol and has demonstrated its importance in the local economy as well as in public entities. To support management decisions and experts about IT infrastructures, the conference presents best-practice-cases and contributes to create synergies.

The Keynote speaker of the SFScon is Glyn Moody. The English journalist is best known for his book "Rebel Code: Linux and the Open Source Revolution", in which he describes the development and significance of the GNU/Linux operating system and open source movements. In his contribution to the SFScon Moody will mainly talk about the relationship between Open Data and Open Innovation.

The SFScon is an initiative of the Center Free Software & Open Technologies and supports the introduction of Free Software on the local territory. At the same time the level of innovation activity and the competitiveness should be supported.
